Plan for the day was to get familiar with Phuket town. On our way to Phuket we managed to get some kind of overview of the island, but it is always nice to take closer look at the neighbourghood as well.
Before leaving anywhere we had the breakfast, after which we made more accurate plan. We decided to start by visiting the local hardware store, just to see, if they would have something interesting to offer, and also get some ideas to take home.
After the hardware store visit, we returned to the hotel, and spent some time by and in the pool. Sun was shining warmly, so the pool was nice place to get cool once in a while. The view was also relaxing, one way the sea and the other way the pool and the garden. So nice.
1,5 hours by the pool went very fast. Next the plan was to go to the city, We decided first visit one of the view points in Phuket, Khao Rang. We got the ride from the hotel to the Old Town, and then we walked 3 kilometers, of which 1 kilometer uphill, to the view point. There is a good view to south, both to mountain and sea. Nice view, couple of restaurants, and big surprise to us, feeding area for the monkeys. When we were walking back from the view point, we noticed further away the monkeys. At the same time, just infront of us, one monkey got hold on my water bottle, and stole it from me. It was so strong, and I couldn’t fight back. The monkey quickly opened the bottle and started to drink. It was kind of funny, so after taken couple of photos we left the monkeys and continued our way back towards the city centre.
The way back was much easier due to downhill, but also because the sun was almost gone down. We walked along the Old Town, by looking at the buildings around, and trying to find the best way to city centre. Quite easily we found our way there. After walking around for some time, we decided to go back to the hotel. You don’t need to search for the taxi, since there are plenty of them and drivers offer you drive even right after you have jumped out from the previous one. So we got the ride back to the hotel, where we then ate the late dinner.
Almost 20.000 steps for the day behind, time to get some rest to the feets, body and soul.
