This day was more or less for rest. We had late breakfast, and then spent time in our room by reading and watching tv. In the afternoon we finally left out. Just couple of quarters away we found a place to eat. This time the experience was not that good, so let’s forget it.
HCMC contains several districts, and we have been mostly walking around district 1. Distric 3 is the natural way to expand the area to get familiar with. When walking along the streets, we came to Tao Dan Park, a big green recreation area, where locals play badminton, jog, meditate, dance, do tai chi and aerobic. There are also sculptures in one part of the park. It is very nice and quiet area in the middle of the city, with benches to sit and relax, look others exercising or just enjoy the peacefull environment.
We sat for a while under the shelter together with some locals, when the rain shower started. While waiting, one university student wanted to interview us about our stay in Vietnam and HCMC. We told him, that the metro system would easy up moving around the city, since by bus or taxi it is talking so long because of traffic jams. By foots the area is to vast. The rain stopped, and we left the shelter. One couple sitting near us said goodbye to us, and we replied to them and then continued our walking. Next we wanted to see Turtle Lake, which is not actually a lake, but a monument built in the city centre. There is a story related to this area, but it cannot be explained shortly, so you need to check from internet, if you are intetested in it.
The rain started again, so it was better to return to the hotel before getting totally wet. First nice cups of coffee and tee, then visit to the pool before going to the bed.
